🗺️ Finding your way around Orly 3

Orly 1, 2 and 3 form a single long building. Orly 3 is the most recent part, and you can walk from it to Orly 2 and Orly 1 without going outside. The metro line 14 station, opened in 2024, is right next to Orly 3, which makes it the terminal closest to the train into Paris.

Orly 4, the long-haul terminal once known as Orly-Sud, stands a little further off. Paris Aéroport runs a free bus between Orly 1-2-3 and Orly 4 roughly every five minutes, seven days a week; an enclosed footbridge fitted with travelators joins the two sides; and the Orlyval driverless train covers the distance in about a minute, also at no cost. Handy if a friend is landing on a long-haul flight while you arrive on Transavia: one driver can collect you both, one terminal after the other.

⏱️ Summer weekends, holiday Fridays and late landings

Orly 3 has its rush hours like every terminal. The worst tend to be Friday evenings, Sunday nights when the weekend crowd flies back from the Mediterranean, and the first days of the French school holidays, when family flights to the Maghreb and the south of France leave one after another. On those days the taxi queue can be long, and ride-hailing prices go up with demand.

Booking ahead takes that out of the equation. Your fare is set when you book and does not change if the plane is held on the tarmac or the motorway crawls. Some of the last Transavia arrivals are due close to midnight, and a delay can push the landing past 1 a.m. That is no problem for us: your driver will be there, with exactly the same welcome as at lunchtime.

🚖 Taxi, ride app or a driver waiting for you?

All three are available at Orly 3, and it helps to know how each one works before you land. Official taxis line up at the rank outside the terminal: you join the queue and take the next car. For Uber, Bolt or Heetch, you head to a signposted "Ride app pick-up" point, which means crossing the terminal with your luggage and checking number plates until you find the right car.

When you book a transfer, the driver comes to you instead. They are already inside when you leave baggage reclaim, they take the bags, and any child seat is fitted before you climb in.
