🚖 Leaving Paris without the train timetable
Paris is a wonderful base, and many visitors want one day of their trip somewhere else. The garden Monet painted again and again, the cathedral of Reims, the harbour at Honfleur, the cemetery above Omaha Beach. The catch is the journey. A train to Vernon and then a shuttle bus, a TGV and then a local line, a coach that leaves when it leaves. With suitcases, children or a flight to catch, those links add up fast.
A car with a driver removes them. You are picked up where you are staying, or at the airport when you land, and set down at the gate you came to see. On the way you read, sleep or plan the afternoon. There is Wi-Fi and water in every car, and if anyone needs a break, you only have to ask your driver to stop.
We are an independent company based south-east of Paris, close to Orly, and most of our work is between the airports and the city. The longer rides are part of the same service. Your driver is chosen with care, speaks English and drives smoothly, which matters more on a three-hour road than on a thirty-minute one.

🗺️ Rouen, Honfleur and Deauville
This is the nearest side of Normandy. Rouen and its cathedral sit a little under two hours from Paris. Honfleur, with its old harbour and slate-fronted houses, and the boardwalk at Deauville take only slightly longer, close enough for a long day and pleasant enough for a weekend.
🛡️ Bayeux and the D-Day beaches
Caen takes about two and a half hours by road, and Bayeux and the landing beaches closer to three. Many visitors come for Omaha Beach and the American cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer. A day moving between several memorial sites is arranged as a full day with the same driver, on quotation.
⭐ Mont-Saint-Michel
The furthest of our regular rides, at roughly three and a half to four hours each way. Cars stop at the car parks on the mainland, and a free shuttle called Le Passeur carries visitors to about 350 metres from the ramparts. It makes a long day, and many travellers stay the night nearby.
💶 Reims and Épernay
The heart of Champagne lies roughly 90 minutes east of Paris. Reims has its cathedral and the big champagne houses, Épernay its Avenue de Champagne, listed by UNESCO along with the cellars beneath it. After a tasting or two, you will be glad somebody else is driving.
⏱️ Giverny, Chartres and the towns nearby
From the centre of Paris, Giverny and Chartres are each just over an hour by road. Fontainebleau and Orléans are also within reach, along with Lille and Amiens to the north. If the place you have in mind is not here, send us the trip and your dates, and we will tell you whether we can do it.
⏱️ A day out, and the ride back
Most people book the ride there and the ride back together, and there are two ways to organise the hours in between. If you are staying a couple of hours, for Monet’s house and gardens or a single champagne cellar, your driver can wait nearby for an hour or two, and you simply pay the outward and return fares. Your bags stay in the car the whole time.
For a longer stay, your driver drops you off, leaves, and comes back at the time you agreed to take you straight home. The fare is still the outward trip plus the return, and you are never charged for hours of waiting you did not need.
A day with several stops is a different thing. Touring the landing beaches, or moving between two or three champagne villages, means keeping the car and driver with you all day. We quote that as an hourly hire on top of the return journey, so write to us with your plans. One thing to know before you book: your driver is a driver, not a tour guide. They know the roads and the best place to drop you, and will happily share a practical tip, but the visits themselves are yours.
💶 What a long ride costs
The fare is worked out by the booking form from the real distance and the car you choose, and it includes tolls and fuel. These starting prices were measured from Orly Airport in our Eco car. From central Paris, the figure is often a little lower.

Each price is for the car, not per person, and it is the same day or night. The exact amount for your address appears in the form before you pay anything, and it is fixed once you book. For a week away, the XL gives you an estate with more room in the back, and your luggage travels free as long as it fits in the car you selected.
⭐ Three days out from Paris
⭐ Giverny, straight from the plane
Monet’s house and gardens open from 1 April to 1 November in 2026, and the house’s own website suggests allowing 90 minutes to two hours for the visit. Large bags are not allowed inside and there is nowhere to leave them. Landing at Orly with suitcases? Your driver takes you there first, waits while you walk the water garden, then drives you on to your hotel with the cases still in the boot. Tickets are best bought online beforehand, as the queue can be long once the online quota is gone.
💶 A champagne day in Reims and Épernay
Book the cellar visits directly with the houses, then give us your first address and the time you want to leave. Between two tastings the car is waiting, so nobody in your group has to skip a glass because they are driving. Two towns and several stops make this a full-day hire, and we will send you a quote once we know your programme.
🛡️ The D-Day beaches
It is a long day, close to three hours each way to Bayeux and the coast, so a night in Bayeux often makes it easier. If you plan to see Omaha Beach, the cemetery and Pointe du Hoc in one go, tell us the sites and we will quote a full day. If you are staying on the coast, a simple ride there and a ride back a few days later works too.
ℹ️ Car, train, taxi or ride app?
The train is a good option when both ends are stations. It gets harder when they are not. To reach Giverny, for example, you ride from Gare Saint-Lazare to Vernon-Giverny, then take a shuttle bus or cycle the last few kilometres. Mont-Saint-Michel has no station of its own, so trains stop at Pontorson, about 9 km away, and a bus covers the rest. And every change is one more moment with your bags on a platform. A taxi will take you out of Paris too, but once it leaves the city the meter decides the fare, and you only see the total on arrival. With the apps, the question is less the way out than the way back. Uber says plainly that it does not guarantee a driver will accept your request, and far from Paris, at the end of a long day, waiting to see whether an Uber, a Bolt or a Heetch driver takes the job is not how most people want to head home. With us, the return is booked with the outward trip, before you leave.

Every ride begins somewhere in Paris or its wider region, Île-de-France. That can be your home, a hotel, a station or one of the airports.
