🚖 Orly Airport to Paris: how to get into the city
Orly is the closer of the two big Paris airports, just south of the city. By road, the centre is 15 to 30 km away depending on where you are staying: Montparnasse and the Latin Quarter come first, the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre a little further, and Montmartre, at the far northern end of the city, last of all.
You have more options than ever to cover that distance. Since June 2024, metro line 14 has run from the airport straight into the city, and the old Orlybus has gone. Taxis wait outside every terminal, and ride-hailing apps have their own pick-up zones. Below you will find what each one is really like with a suitcase in hand, including the parts the timetables leave out.
If you land tired, with children or heavy bags, or late in the evening, a private transfer is the simplest answer: someone is waiting for you with your name on a board, and you do not handle your bags again until you reach the hotel lobby.

ℹ️ Metro line 14
The fastest train into town. The station sits at Orly 3, a short walk from terminals 1 and 2, and trains reach Châtelet in about 25 minutes, stopping at Gare de Lyon on the way. It is busy with suitcases at peak times, and you still have the last stretch from your metro stop to the hotel.
ℹ️ Orlyval and RER B
The Orlyval light rail takes you to Antony, where you change to the RER B for Denfert-Rochereau, Saint-Michel, Châtelet and Gare du Nord. Handy for the Latin Quarter, but it means two trains and a change on the platform.
ℹ️ Tram 7 and metro 7
The slow route: tram T7 from the airport to Villejuif–Louis Aragon, then metro line 7 towards the centre. Count around 45 minutes before you even reach the city centre, with many stops.
ℹ️ What happened to the Orlybus?
The Orlybus to Denfert-Rochereau stopped running on 3 March 2025, after most of its passengers moved to metro 14. If an old guide still sends you to its stop, head for the metro instead.
💶 What will you pay for a private transfer into Paris?
It depends on where you are going and when. Put Orly and your Paris address into the booking form above, with the date and time of your flight, and the price of every car category appears at once, before you pay anything. That price covers the car, whether you are travelling alone or as a family.
Once you have booked, the amount does not move. A traffic jam on the ring road, a queue at passport control or a flight that lands an hour late changes nothing on your bill. Ride-hailing apps, by contrast, set their price at the moment you request a car and raise it when demand is high, which is exactly when a plane full of passengers lands at the same time as yours.

🗺️ Eiffel Tower and the Left Bank
The 7th and 15th arrondissements, the Invalides, Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Latin Quarter all lie on the south side of the Seine, which is the side Orly is on. They are usually the quickest central addresses to reach from the airport.
🗺️ Louvre, Marais and Châtelet
Right in the centre, between the river and the Grands Boulevards. Streets in the Marais are narrow and partly pedestrian; your driver knows where to stop so you are not left carrying bags across several blocks.
🗺️ Opéra, Champs-Élysées and the west
Department stores, business hotels and the Arc de Triomphe. The drive crosses the whole city, so allow a little longer on weekday mornings, when traffic around the Opéra and the Étoile slows right down.
🗺️ Montmartre and northern Paris
The furthest part of the city from Orly, around 30 km by road. Worth knowing if you are choosing between metro and car: from the metro 14 you would still need another line and a climb up the hill with your cases.
ℹ️ Catching a train after landing at Orly
Plenty of travellers land at Orly only to leave Paris again by rail. We drive to all the main stations: Gare de Lyon for trains to the south and the Alps, Montparnasse for Brittany and the south-west, Gare du Nord for the Eurostar to London and trains to Brussels, as well as Gare de l’Est, Saint-Lazare and Paris-Bercy. Each has its own drop-off point, and the driver takes you to the one nearest your departure hall.

After parking in the airport’s professional car park, your driver comes into the terminal and waits where arriving passengers come out, with a name board. If baggage reclaim is slow, a quick message is enough; you will already have their number.

Metro 14 does not run through the night, and once it has closed, the only public transport left into Paris is a Noctilien night bus. We drive at any hour, so a flight landing at 11.30 pm is no more complicated than one at noon.
⏱️ Paris to Orly Airport: the ride back
On the day you fly home, we collect you from the door of your hotel or flat at the time you choose and take you to the right terminal at Orly. The first 15 minutes of waiting are free, which leaves time to check out or bring down the last bag. You can book as early as 90 days before your flight.
Morning traffic heading south can be heavy, especially on the A6 and the ring road.
